Wise Earth Publishers is a family run publishing company started in a spirit of service, to assist humanity in arriving at consensus on the ideals and principles necessary to guide human civilization towards peace and harmony with truth.
Who are WE(P)?
Wise Earth Publishers is a family publishing company started in early 2008 with the blessings of Holy Mother Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi Devi), by Dr. P.K. Willey and her son, Linkesh Diwan.
Dr. Willey has a Ph.D. in Educational Philosophy from the University of Connecticut, USA. She focused her research on Mahatma Gandhi. In 1999, she brought her small family to live and learn about ethical life in the world spiritual center and ashram of Holy Mother Amma, in Amritapuri, Kerala, India. At that time her children were 10 and 12 years of age. The ethical education imparted through that environment has been invaluable to her children.
Linkesh is now an Erasmus Mundus scholarship holder at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (Royal Technical University) in Sweden, studying Enviro-nomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Technology, and plans to use his studies to research and promote low-impact, localized solutions to global development.
Anni is Linkesh’s sister, Dr. P. K. Willey's daughter, and the guiding angel of our hearts. Although no longer here, she continues to grace and inspire our lives, and in this very real sense, is a big part of Wise Earth Publishers.
What are we trying to accomplish?
In 2011, while discussing our books with Holy Mother Amma, she mentioned that we are the only ones in her ashram at Amritapuri that she has allowed to start a publishing business. Wise Earth Publishers holds this as a sacred trust. It is our prayer that our works will carry the vibration of love and truth into all who read, see, or hear them.
Our planet faces an ethical crises of the highest magnitude. Greed has been licensed as an economic, social, and personal right; human interdependence and the associated responsibilities attendant upon all have been forgotten or ignored. In these times, the ethics of truth and love, and the means to actualize them, hold a beacon of light to guide us towards a sustainable, just, and more humane world. True teachers and Saviours throughout time have taught mankind to seek and exercise the kind part of man.
Here at Wise Earth Publishers, we are doing our best to be the change we want to see in the world. To this end, our mission is to assist humanity in arriving at consensus on Earth Ethics through awareness, discussion, projects, and example. We believe that providing wisdom is a service. We support Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and want to encourage all who long for truth and love to become ascendant in human society to rise up now, on every platform, through every media.
The printing industry has one of the heaviest environmental impacts world-wide. We believe that books holding positive value for human civilization are worth the investment for global change, and that media as a whole must seek to serve the ethical interests of us all, particularly youth who will later inherit this Earth. We strive to keep wastage as low as possible.
In support of Holy Mother Amma’s charitable works Wise Earth Publishers has donated a royalty-free world- wide license to reproduce, perform, and sell our music album Become Love to the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. We encourage people to buy the album from the ashram if possible.
We also maintain the website EarthEthics.org.in, as a place for people to discuss Earth Ethics, a platform for projects, and a growing knowledge pool. Wise Earth Publishers has been started by truth seekers and works in support of the people of this Earth. At this time we operate on word-of-mouth advertising, and distribute our books mainly through our own People’s Distribution Network to keep final prices as low as possible.
