A Pedagogy of Non-Violent Social Action Based on the work of Ekta Parishad
This article is a "Resource Manual for Trainers" in non-violent social activism. Researched and compiled by Jill Carr Harris, this document is at the center of a huge non-violent campaign in India today. With permission from the publishers (Ekta Parishad), we are posting this document here, that it may be drawn upon as a practical field manual for social improvement, and education into non-violence.
The author, Jill Carr Harris (president of South-South Solidarity in New Delhi, India) has been working along side her husband, P.V. Rajogopal for the last two decades, seeking to gain land for the landless in India, and other basic rights for people. Currently, Jill and P.V. Rajogopal are involved in the Anna Hazare Campaign in India, and preparing for an international conference in Geneva. Simultaneously, she is finishing her M.A. in Canada on non-violent social movements.
This document is an expert piece on the subject.
The Weld Angel [Video]
Recently we had the good fortune to meet a very nice person whom you may have learned about, known popularly as the "Weld Angel." Allana Beltran is a young artist-activist from Australia, working in Tasmania to save the "old-growth" forests (forests that have never been molested by humankind).
Arrested at the age of 21 for her beliefs, her fearlessness is an ideal we can all strive for. The Weld Angel and her story became world famous, evoking an archetype of love for, and benevolence from, Nature. Her partner and co-worker recently left his body due to cancer. Their courageous work is responsible in part for the recent improvement of forest protection in Tasmania.
We encourage you to learn more about her! See http://www.huon.org/.

Examining the Role of Aspiration and Intention in Regard to Sex and Food
This is in response to an email query that we had, and we thought that it would be edifying for all to read.
Dearest G.,
Thank you for your questions, my darling little one. I appreciate them, for they make me think, and in the thinking and then seeking to express, I also gain a clearer understanding.
Your question is:
In how far is the aspiration (intent) behind an urge to do tapasya relevant to the fruit? How much weight does the aspiration take?
