The author, Jill Carr Harris (president of South-South Solidarity in New Delhi, India) has been working along side her husband, P.V. Rajogopal for the last two decades, seeking to gain land for the landless in India, and other basic rights for people. Currently, Jill and P.V. Rajogopal are involved in the Anna Hazare Campaign in India, and preparing for an international conference in Geneva. Simultaneously, she is finishing her M.A. in Canada on non-violent social movements.

Two great souls – one light bearer, one enlightened. Herein are oceans to imbibe about what is most important to us all – how to live in peace and joy with ourself, with others and with the Earth. Compiled and commented as it is, with so much love, knowledge and understanding, reading this book is an outstanding experience.  (Kerstin Utas, Sweden - Initial Working Group, Humana People to People.)
India, Gandhi, and Amma have provided unique contributions to worldwide earth ethics.  Their contributions are well worth reading—and contemplating.  We are indebted to Kamala for having made them available.  (Dr. Joseph Elder, Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA.)

Earth Ethics are the Universal Ideals that light our way into building a humane civilization in harmony with Mother Earth.  With analogies, parables, anecdotes, and photographs, this book brings to light ethics which, while blindingly relevant like the air we breathe, are so obvious as to be forgotten.  It has been written and produced with love, and that grace-filled vibration embraces the reader who peruses its pages.

A Necessary Moral Atmosphere

Today, December 15, the Climate Justice Fast has entered its 40th day, the timespan of Jesus Christ’s legendary 40 days of fasting and prayer in the desert. For the Climate Justice Fasters, the Fast has been a public penance, an act of atonement on behalf of humanity and a call for awakening. This article examines the Climate Justice Fast in light of the criterion that Gandhi held out as being indispensable for its deepest and greatest societal success: a necessary moral atmosphere.

The Purity of Intention

From the Satyagraha arsenal, Mahatma Gandhi introduced to the world platform of human ethics in action, what he termed, 'the terrible weapon' of the Fast.
